Character Name: Dean Winchester. Age: 14. Fandom: Supernatural. Character Journal: weedean
Dean Winchester hasn't exactly had a typical childhood so far, not since the night he pulled his baby brother out of the fire that killed his mother. There's nothing typical, after all, about moving from town, a different motel or backwoods cabin as 'home' for a week or two, or perhaps a month if they're lucky; there's nothing typical about learning Latin and Sumerian and ancient lore instead of history and science and math; there's nothing typical about being able to handle weapons that most adults steer clear of, and knowing how to drive at age fourteen, and having a fake ID marking him two years older, just in case.
And there definitely isn't anything typical about knowing the monsters are real, your dad's gone to hunt them, and he might not be coming back.
Despite playing parent to his brother in lieu of their all-too-absent father, Dean is a pretty average testosterone-filled teenage boy: moody, distrustful of adults, and prone to getting involved in fist-fights. He bucks authority at every chance, and seemingly doesn't know how to be anything but sarcastic. This is certainly more true at school than at home, but then, Dean has realized that what he really wants to do doesn't mean he has to know how to solve algebraic equations, or anything else school teaches, for that matter.
It's just his luck that he managed to hit his growth spurt at the same time that girls started to be interesting; brown-haired, green-eyed, he stands a couple inches shy of six feet, making him easily one of the tallest in his class, but those inches came quickly. It's left him somewhat gangly, though he's started to fill out, gaining muscle in place of baby fat.
He's quick on his feet, quicker to swing in defense of family, and after that incident in Fort Douglas three years ago, he's slowly but surely learning how to draw without hesitation. The Winchester boys are definitely from the wrong side of the tracks, and even if Sammy doesn't always need it, Dean is incredibly protective of his little brother.
